Climbing Access Improved

This past August the Rovers assembled for their annual 10 day volunteer vacation. The trip has become a tradition where two consecutive 3 day weekend trips are held in a row with leisure days in between. This year's location was the beautiful Shawangunk Ridge at the Mohonk Preserve.

Famed for it's world renowned rock climbing cliffs, The Trapps, the Rovers partnered with the Preserve to tackle phase 1 of improvements to the cliffs main access trail, the East Trapps Connector. Over 20 steps were reset or added along with numerous improvements to tread surfaces to improve drainage on one particularly eroded section of the ascent.

Plans are in the works for late next Fall to continue improvements with phase 2 above where the crew left off.
