Welcome Aboard!

On April 7, 2018 the Jolly Rovers proudly welcomed two new board members into our organization,s leadership. While both Emily Hague and Matthew Decker have served as valued crew members for the last 5 years, they have also been spending their entire professional lives protecting special places in the Hudson Valley and beyond. Most importantly, they get "us" and are excited to hit the ground running.

"I'm thrilled to help lead this crew to bigger successes and heightened skills as we continue the work of creating timeless trails to treasured places," said Hague. "Having worked for over a dozen nonprofits, I look forward to applying my management and fundraising skills to one of my biggest passions: moving dirt and rocks!"

Emily began her career in conservation in her native state of New Hampshire where she worked with numerous nonprofits as well as serving as a Councilwoman for the city of Keene and Trustee of Antioch University New England. Now a New York resident, she currently works as Land Project Manager for Scenic Hudson where she fights to protect some of the Hudson Valley's most important places and natural resources.

Also joining the Board of Directors is Matthew Decker. Matt joined the Jolly Rovers as a crew member in 2013 and is Director of Conservation and Stewardship with the Orange County Land Trust. Previous to current role, Matt built his career in conservation by also working for the Hudson Highlands Land Trust and Trust for Public Land.

"This trail crew has been an important part of my life for the last 5 years and I am excited to be able to contribute in this way" said Decker. "I am looking forward to helping the Board and members of the crew continue to develop into an organization that will be around for as long as the steps they build."
